If you have a CCA can you check how it behaves today/Sunday?

Here's a screen capture for what I now see when casting from Chrome; no volume control anymore

When I use a Slimjet browser, I still do have volume control - and this is what I USED to see yesterday when using Chrome:

I've rebooted my laptop - nope

I've uninstalled Chrome and have done a fresh install of Chrome - nope

    WTF?

From Google Chrome using the same website I get the same look at you do.

    Thanks.

So, something has changed with Google's interface with the CCA.

I guess since they stopped selling them, I'm now experiencing a change in support/features?

My three Chromecast devices in different locations are all working as they have always worked.

So, specifically - can you still control the volume when casting from a Chrome browser session via a computer or laptop?

I can control the volume on Spotify but not on Tidal [ but , then Tidal has always been a little awkward to control]

This happened with the latest Chrome update. I remember reading Google wants us to use the Home app for control, thus the redesign.

Bummer - cuz my preferred method of casting is from my laptop.

Even before today, I did have to use the Home App on my android phone to enable full dynamic settings, but at least retained the ability to set the volume from my laptop.

I'll just use Slimjet instead of Chrome (until they take that away, too).

I find Chromecast to be a little glitchy from time to time. I don't have any suggestions, but it sometimes isn't as reliable as I would like it to be.

Nothing special this weekend. I constantly loose connection on Tidal and have to restart the app to get it working again. Tidal also crashes a lot and volume sometimes can't be controlled with phone. Got used to it.

Same here. Also I get a lot of dropouts when casting hi res files (Qobuz) using the optical out. Otherwise works fine.
