Hi, I am relatively new to surround sound, but I enjoy music.
    I can't say I am an audiophile , thought.

Point is I invested some money in the gear I mentioned in the title :

    Receiver Onkyo SR702
    Speakers JBL SCS300.7
and I just bought yesterday the SACD/DVD-A/DVD player Pioneer 578A-s

Well, my main concern is :

When playing SACD ( Nora Jones ) and DVD Audio ( Crosby and Nash ) , I don't feel like teh sound distribution in surround is OK.

Most of the "sound" comes from center , right and left speakers.
If I get myself closer enough to any one of the other 4 speakers , then I can hear something coming out .

Point is my initial expectation was to get more "feeling" coming from the surround speakers.

Actually , I can say the same thing for some of the DVD movies I watched using an older Toshiba DVD player.

    More info :
I setup the Pioneer to deliver Multichannel ( as opposed to Digital output ) . I understood reading other threads here that is the way to go...

The SR702 "automatically" set himself to THX Cinema when I started to play both the SACD or DVD-A.

I have both analog multichannel cables and optical cable linking Pioneer and Onkyo.

I setup speakers to "small" in Pioneer and Onkyo.

Did I have a wrong expectation ( to start with ) , or is it something I can fine tune ?

Any help is more than welcome!

obrigado ( Thank you in Portuguese ) in advance for your help
    Luis :help:
