Look at these speakers on Craigslist and he's wanting a very low price. He says they have no markings, so checking to see if anyone might know this brand? Dayton Kit is all I can think of. Back Side.jpg Front.jpg Closeup.JPG

Binding post plate, tweeter and woofer look like they are being held on with sheet rock (wall board) screws...

    Nothing unusual about that.
These do look DIY but you'll have to take the step of asking the seller.

They look like old Snell speakers. Drivers look like Vifa stuff. Tweeter is probably pretty bad. Nothing special, most likely.

Thanks. Saves me some driving. He wanted $40 and offered to audition them for me, but I don't think I'll do it.

I think they are "home made", not necessarily a bad thing......but those screws......a bad sign I would think.

Geez, what do you expect for $40? They might sound ok, especially with those poly cone woofers.

I was expecting the drivers to at least be some SEAS X1's along with SEAS Diamond Dome Tweeters. But, thought maybe this guy painted them black to hide them.

Upon closer look, YES! Looks like he painted the woofer with gloss enamel. Notice the dead spot near the surround, which appears to be old foam remnant from a previous foam surround, and those screws!!!!! Avoid!
