Last stand bombed , I really bombed bad.
It's probably worst box office take ever.

Not as long as "The Oogieloves" exists:

"In its debut weekend, Oogieloves proved to be the biggest box office bomb of all time for films released in at least 2,000 theaters. Its production budget was $20 million, in addition to another $40 million in marketing costs.[1] On August 29, 2012, the film opened at #17 at the box office to $102,564 in 2,160 theaters, with a per-theater average of $47."

"Last Stand" had a per-theater average of $2156 - not good, but still $2109 better per theater than "Oogieloves"...

There you're correct - unless "Last Stand" has a remarkable comeback at the box office, it's going to be Arnie's worst-grossing movie ever...

Here comes The Terminator, smelling like Rogaine and Ben Gay, popping a Geritol before saying "I'll be back, after my hip replacement surgery".

I know of a script idea from about ten years ago where an older Schwarzenegger would play the German scientist who actually created the first T800 killer android, and modeled it after an idealized version of himself. At the time, I think the idea was rejected because having a 60-year-old Arnold and a 30-year-old Robot Arnold in the same scene would be too difficult to pull off; nowadays, I'd say it's actually possible (but expensive).

This is the only way this can work. The Conan film I can see, because you just have an older version of the same character. Terminator 3 showed why this doesn't work at all in that series.

Yes, but those super-duper robots are so sophisticated that they age to fool the humans! They morph! There you are, script problem solved. :D

I really have no interest in this 80's action hero revival thing. I still love these movies and I'm sure if I sat down and watched some of this stuff I would enjoy it on some level. I just have no interest in it though.

I'd actually like to see this story. But just having Arnold return as the Terminator doesn't interest me. Heck he should have stopped at Terminator 2. That was a perfect way for his character to end.

A perfect example. I'm curious about the new Mad Max movie, if Gibson was in it I would not be interested.

I wonder what the movie's excuse will be for having yet another Terminator who happens to look like Arnold?

The Arnie robots were mass-produced. We saw a spanking new one coming off the production line in the fourth film of the series.

For what exactly do they need Arnie here? Can't they just pay him, and CGI him up while he sits at home, smokes cigars and abuses the servants?

I don't think Arnold is going to look "spanking new" in this one. Well, not without several terabytes of CGI anyway.

There's always a prototype -- the very first one -- which is not mass-produced.
