I didn't read the feedback info before hand, but it doesn't add up now that I have. If I win this bid is there any way I can confirm this is legit before I pay him. I'm sure many forum members have looked at this but didn't get sucked in. I bid on this when there was six days left on the auction and couldn't believe that no one else bid! Any thoughts?

It says he has 230 positive feedbacks but when you click the feedback he has sold 421 this month. They all seem to be the same kind of responses. I don't know! It all looks like BS to me now!

It looks safe to me. He personalized the info and has a 100% positive feedback rating. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Except of course, being outbid by someone here on the forum which could easily happen since you've called attention to the disc with this thread.

i think that number of unique buyers rather than the number of total items sold.

those two numbers are more often than not different.

Why would his feedback be 230 when he has had 421 this month? Am I reading this wrong?

because some of the buyers bought multiple items.

for example, if i buy three items, i can leave feedback on each one, but it won't increase his feedback by three, rather by one. (and that is only if i have never bought from the seller before)

I see what you're saying. He sold 421 items to 230 people?

I didn't realize that was how they added them up. Thanks!

I agree with Mike. Looks like a good seller, the kind I like, selling from their private collections. He also seems to know what he is selling. This forum tends to make people over-paranoid about buying on eBay. This one looks good.

He must have made duplicate sales to a number of customers.

He sells model trains judging from his user name and his comment in the item description. I love sellers with repeat customers and I love sellers who sell in other categories. As wild as music buying can be on eBay other markets can be downright brutal.

Also, in his detailed feedback, his score for accurate item description is 4.9 out of 5.0. That is a terrific score and certainly indicates that he is not regularly selling bogus items.

It was all bogus. He was banned from the forum earlier for doing the same thing. He changed his name and put this stuff in the classified and just before I paid him, another forum member told me to look into it a little further. As it turned out, it was a scam. Someone else bought a lot who lived in the same town in Ontario and couldn't get an address to pick them up at.
