Interesting. I didnt put the fabs in my ten either, even after considering them initially. I think that its because they were absorbed into my consciousness via a much wider cultural and social exposure as a child (I was born in '61), and so I picked artists that I discovered when in my teens, the hormones and other "ingredients" came into the mix and I started seriously collecting albums and listening to them with headphones.

I bounce this around the noggin on occasion.

Sure it would fun to erase my memory of The Beatles / Smiths / U2 / Public Enemy and then start over again, for example. But then the old memories kind of get lost in the process as well.

Now if I could just undo the OVERplaying, on the other hand, that would be pretty sweet.

I’m not totally sold on the idea, not going to list any old time favorites as that seems futile, but:

    Yo La Tengo
    Stereolab
    Sonic Youth
    Wilco
    The Decemberists
    The Flaming Lips
    R.E.M.
    Belle & Sebastian
    Ryan Adams

  4. BeSteVenn

    The Zombies
    Crowded House/Neil Finn
    Badfinger
    The Beatles
    Randy Newman
    The Beach Boys/Brian Wilson
    Gerry Rafferty (and Stealers Wheel)
    Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler
    Simon and Garfunkel/Paul Simon
    Moody Blues (Mike Pinder era)
    Elvis Costello
    Harry Nilsson
    Del Amitri / Justin Currie

    That's thirteen ... I guess I cheated.
The sad thing is while deciding who to list, I came across a number of bands/artists that I was disappointed to realize I wouldn't really enjoy discovering anymore, in light of where I am in my life. (CSNY, The Who, Eric Clapton, and others). Some undeniably outstanding work, but too much material that I simply don't enjoy, too.

None, it'd take way too much money and time to re-collect all my favorites again

I can only name two off of the top of my head and those are The Beatles, along with solo releases and The Zombies.
