Not all their songs but this one in particular by Dublin funk rockers, republic of loose (rip) had a real steely Dan feel to it.

Really good album as well. Check it out.

New to the forum but Steely Dan is my long time fav, some of the suggestions below were great, a few additions would be:
    Lucky by Robbie Dupree
Where you going to run to by Sneaker
Keep the suggestions coming as we all love learning about new (old) music

The instrumental breaks in the middle and end of this track are pure, Mu-Major chord Dan.

Just heard this for the first time... I'm late to the party, the beer is warm, the kegs are empty, but the stereo is playing this tune... WOW!

The first Danny Wilson album (Meet Danny Wilson) - definitely has some Dan-influenced aspects.

  6. I have a real nice 70s playlist of just the Dan, War and Zappa.

Fault Line is a bit of a forgotten album. The title track is very jazzy

Similar, in that he's jazzy...but way too "crunchy granola" to be considered Dan-like to me. I think Pages, Sneaker and especially Far Cry come closer.

Lots of great recommendations here, but I'm surprised nobody has mentioned "The Language of Life" by Everything But The Girl. It has great solos by Michael Brecker and Stan Getz and some very fine songs. Nothing else in their catalog is this reminiscent musically of Aja-era Steely Dan, but they have lots of great albums. The Language of Life was my introduction to them, recommended to me soon after it came out in a discussion very much like this one.

They were mentioned up-thread in reference to their first album but Young Gun Silver Fox's latest, "AM Waves" mines some of the same Steely/Doobie Brothers references. I'm enjoying it.

    Check Out Monkey House.
Their 2016 album Left was mentionned by someome, but their earlier album Headquarters is the closest thing I’ve heard to Fagen and Becker.
