A fascinating movie with fantastic acting, one of my top 5 zombie movies ever. Deserves its own thread.

My wife watches a lot of South Korean drams and whatnot, but she gave it up about halfway through Train To Busan ("This is just silly" was her verdict.) This weekend, though, we plan on watching the 2012 South Korean remake of The Towering Inferno (one of my favourite movies), simply called The Tower. Hollywood hasn't even had the cajones to remake that one yet (which might be just as well, for a variety of reasons)

Dwayne Johnson's new one, Skyscraper, might not "officially" be a remake of Towering Inferno.... but based on the trailer, it might as well be!

Another interested take on zombies was Maggie, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin:

I'm perfectly happy with them producing any English language version of Train to Busan. Again, it's not like they're burning every copy of the original film, and if the English language version isn't very good... so what? It's not like I'm spending 30 million dollars to make it.

No idea. Between announcing a project and then actually appearing in theaters, so many things can go wrong.

Pretty good. Not great. The last third of the movie ramps/dumbs up the plotting and characters. More and more real bad stuff just happens out of the blue. But for a zombie flick it does have some really solid moments. The baseball player, cheerleader, boxer dad and little girl were all really good.
