Interesting fact about Brian Wilson I heard over the radio, yesterday.

Apparently, Brian Wilson flunked his high-school music course with an F because he submitted Surfin' as the final project and the teacher, being a traditionalist, frowned on the material. It went on to become the Beach Boys' first hit, generating a million dollars.

A few days ago, the high school's current principal eventually changed it from an F to an A.

For Beach Boy and BW fans, this story has actually been well known for many years. It was even included in the 1976 Beach Boys TV special that was sponsored by Dr. Pepper. If I remember correctly, the show included a brief on-camera comment from the teacher who gave him the "F".

Kind of cool that that they adjusted Brian's grade to an "A" all these years later.

 

Still gonna ding him for all those study halls he skipped. Something about "the acoustics were better in the stairwell", I believe...?

 

I told Brian to submit "Bull Session With The Big Daddy" instead.......

 

That changed grade should really boost his career.
