Is Mick Jagger the only singer out there who still sounds exactly like when he was young?

I mean if you listen to the 2016 tracks, studio or live it's still the same Mick you first heard on their blues covers more than 50 years ago. The same timbre, breath, power, energy, range. I mean there are some wonderfully preserved voices, people who adapted their vocal techniques to their age with superb results but there is only one who has exactly the same voice 52 years later! How did he do it aside from an obvious contract with certain gentleman of wealth and taste?

Mick's voice sounds very different now than it did in the '60s.

Yeah…he definitely doesn't (having seen the Stones live, this was very noticeable). But there's plenty who do.

Micky Dolenz and Roger McGuinn, for example.

Ironically, the other guy I thought of is Neil Young. Almost unchanged.

Mick's voice doesn't even sound the way it did in 2005.

I listened to Blues & Lonesome yesterday and was wowed by Mick's voice. Didn't sound the same as 50 years ago, but definitely closer to his Tattoo You era voice than I've heard him sound any time recently.

I agree re David Crosby... and James Taylor also still sounds pretty similar.

It's been several years at this point, but I saw him live at that point and was amazed at how great he still sounded. :agree:

Ringo Starr sounds pretty much the same now as he did in the '60s.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of Paul McCartney. :(

Yes. He doesn't sound like Leonard Cohen or anything, but he also doesn't sound like he did in the '60s.

Mick does not sound the same. Does he sound good? Yep. Can I close my eyes and differentiate between 1966 Mick and 2016 Mick? Every single time.

That is actually one of his better performances. There's other clips a million times worse unfortunately.

Not so sure he sounds like he did in the early 60's......

But - I love him with all my heart and soul. The greatest rock and roll singer & performer in the history of the world.

I'd say Elvis, but Sir Michael Phillip is singing & dancing his ass off 30+ years longer!

    Mick, you freak!!

Ah, sweet guitars & insane vocal I'm listening to right now on "I Can't Quit You Baby," - this is nuts!!! Vox & did I say GUITARS!!!?!! Yeeeeeaaaaahoooo!

What are you talking about? He is 70 something, his voice isnt like it was when he was young. His range is much more limited. The timbre of his voice has changed. a lot has changed with his vocal delivery. Half the time he cheerleads instead of singing. Why? Because he cant reach like he use to.
