Is this the one where the kid sees the flying saucer land in his backyard, and then dad gets strange?
I saw that as a kid. loved it.

No, that's Invaders From Mars. This one is totally different, and I'll never forget Ray Bradbury talking about writing it at the Egyptian 3D screening. It's a great movie, IMO. Makes you think and is wonderful in 3D.

    Thanks, Bob for offering this.

I really hope there will be an affordable release for Europe. I saw it as a kid in a cinema, wearing the usual red/green glasses. My first 3D movie along with "Creature from the Black Lagoon" (which I recently bought on 3D blu ray).

Do you have to have a 3D television to watch this?

    Yes, you'll need a 3-D capable display.

Just for the record: the terrible anaglyphic conversion was done in the 1970's. The original 1953 release was in glorious polarized 3-D!

No, the Blu ray comes in 2D as well as 3D on the same disc.

Again you don't NEED a 3D TV to watch it, only of you want to see it in 3D, as it is also presented in 2D on the disc.

I use an Epson projector but I'm told some of the new Sony 4K sets have an amazing 3-D image.
