Page, a metaller and Edge would have been better. EVH or Zakk Wylde for me.

Oh no, no Gallaghers please. Noel and The Edge? We're talking about entertainment here. :D

I don't know about the Edge but I could sure name a replacement or three for fricken' Jack White. Also if it was Billy Duffy I would not have watched it.

Never understood the appeal (And overpraise) about Jack White.

I'd replace Jack and Edge with Brian May and David Gilmour or Eric Clapton.
But it's still a decent documentary for me.

  10. Let's see a new version with Eddie Van Halen, Noel Gallagher, and Kevin Shields. Get loud, indeed.

Let's get Tom Morello in there for the 90s too.

The problem with replacing Jack is he was the most energetic of the bunch and presented a significant contrast in style.

Angus Young or Slash instead of The Edge
Trey Anastasio instead of Jack White

The film was about three guitar players with each "representing" an era and the Edge was a perfect choice. U2 were massive by the end of the 1980s.

It's about passion for guitars and guitar playing too. I'm sure that The Edge has it, but what you see in the movie is as exciting as watching plants grow.

Jack White comes across as such a try hard in this movie.

The Edge didn't already provide a significant contrast to Jimmy Page? I thought he was the really contrasting player. What Jack White was doing seemed to me to be a very primitive version of what Page was doing, or at least Page's roots.

Agree, I would question Jack White's involvement.

Gallagher is from a different kind of non blues tradition to Page & White. If the three were Bert Jansch, Marr & Gallagher, I'd love it in terms of influence (Jansch on Marr, Marr on Noel), but the general non-music buying public wouldn't have heard of one, possibly two of them.

    Literally, anyone else.

I don't even care if they can play a guitar.

I get they wanted somebody from a younger generation. I just think he's a shoddy guitar player and even worse singer. There had to be somebody better.

I can't stand Morello, his way high axe and his BS solos.
