Was George Martin involved in these as at least a consultant?

Man...unreal. One question though: if the mono versions of "Help!" & "Rubber Soul" cd's include the '65 stereo mixes, what will the stereo versions be? The Martin '87 remixes?

There are 147 people looking at this thread RIGHT now! lol!

The mono boxed set is getting me very excited! I am wondering how the Rubber Soul and Help! CDs will compare to the Disque Americ/Cinram Canadian versions? I for one will not be parting with mine yet!

Or remixes. But I guess that think ANTHOLOGY took care of all possible bonus tracks.

I am buying both boxes. I don't care what they cost. I am 29 and will have these to treasure all my life.

I may not buy the Help! and Rubber Soul discs if they are the '87 remixes. The mono boxed set will take care of that. Otherwise, it's a free-for-all!

O.K. now lets all relax here. As you all know if this is for real these Cd's will not sound the way you want them to sound. What I mean is audiophile quality. They are going to target the mass audience and not the sophisticated few. Millions of people do not own high end stereo equipment let alone know what the word audiophile means, and millions probably don't own a single DCC, AF or Mofi recording. That said, if you all don't mind compressed beatle remasters that will not sound stellar then be my guest. I will buy them only because I'm running short on drink coasters in my home. The 87 remasters will make fine coasters.

Ok, are any of you concerned about the mini documentaries being included on the same Cd as the albums, ie making it difficult to upload them to Mp3 etc, the documentary messing up your computer O/S, although I am really looking forward to these documentarys one for each album, incredible:)

If the sound is comparable to the Love CD then I for one will be happy.

"A second boxed set has been created with the collector in mind. 'The Beatles in Mono' gathers together, in one place, all of the Beatles recordings that were mixed for a mono release. It will contain 10 of the albums with their original mono mixes, plus two further discs of mono masters (covering similar ground to the stereo tracks on 'Past Masters'). As an added bonus, the mono "Help!" and "Rubber Soul" discs also include the original 1965 stereo mixes, which have not been previously released on CD. These albums will be packaged in mini-vinyl CD replicas of the original sleeves with all original inserts and label designs retained."

These have less bass though and also sound less loud, which on second thought IMO is a welcome improvement.

According to the press release, they might have got these right. All we can do now is wait. Are they on Piratebay.org yet? :D
