Right here! As an ol' skool Fusionista, it really warms my heart to see bands like the Funky Knuckles and Snarky Puppy following the footsteps of bands like the Brecker Bros. and Cobham's Crosswinds Band. In recent years the Pups have been spending a lot of time overseas. Them being the young musical sponges that they are, reflects this in their latest recordings that have more of a 'World Music' vibe to them. I prefer the grittier, electrofunkjazz of their earlier records (their ground UP record is a must-have, really terrific). The Knuckles, while also stretching their songbook lately have remained more true to this core sound. But hell yeah, Fusion plus horns has always been a favorite for me!;)

I am a big enthusiast of this style. In Spain there were several prominent bands practicing jazz-rock or jazz-fusion. Among them I want to emphasize to Iceberg that during the seventies they released five albums, where jazz and rock were merged with Mediterranean sounds. Two of his musicians continued later in the 80 with another band called Pegasus. Personally I prefer the sound of Iceberg because Pegasus, like so many bands of the 80 (Chick Corea Elektric Band for example) abused of synths, drums machines etc.

My favorite album is Arc En Ciel (1979), which sounds delicious....
