Seems like the buyer owns a store and went out to look at a collection. I too would guess that someone died and the family called him. He said the room was so full of junk he had to almost shovel a path. He estimates the total number of LPs in the house at 70,000.

He made two trips and bought 600 each time. No word on what he paid.

Wow, that's a dream come true for somebody, just a dream for the rest of us.

I once got a call at 1130pm, telling me that if I could make it to Toronto the next morning at 10am, I could have a locker full of records for 200 bucks. It was a 5 hour drive but of course I went. I drove an extended cargo van then, and I dont remember if it was 2500 LPs or 4500 LPs, but my van was loaded down to the point where the frame was inches off the tires, the boxes were 3 high front to back. At least half of it was worthless, it took a couple of days just flinging things from the keep pile to the donate pile. All of the records belonged to CBC stations, from the maritimes to Manitoba.

I have no idea to this day how they all ended up there. It was the score of my life, but not like this. This was a work intensive lot, radio station stickers and stamps on everything. I didnt need to clip my nails for like 6 months, I was scraping stickers until i nearly bled. . The worst were those little barcode stickers that they used for djs to borrow from the libraries, there was usually no removing those without part of the jacket, i dont care what solution you used. But there were hundreds and hundreds of curios, promos that were sent with press kits to the stations of bands who never broke out. Piles and piles of library records which I love. No classic rock or top 40, Im sure somebody removed all of that.

It's almost (not really) worth going on facebook to have a look at these though, somebody struck gold.
