I was lisening to Grace on the week end, and opined to my colleague that this album was the last classic album ever released. I love JB , i saw him at the Palais in Melbourne and unfortunately i remember where i was when the rado announced that he was missing. We havent seen or heard his like since.

I think most do - Buckley's version went to #1 on the iTunes chart when it came back into the limelight following someone singing it on American Idol.

Maybe people try to sing it in a similar way to him stylistically. However Jeff's version was actually based on John Cale's version of the song.

As in the show that Jimmy Page attended?

And I wholeheartedly agree with your last statement. Not even close.

I was just about to post this very same bit. It is too little known that John Cale's very own arrangement of the song, as released on the 1991 I'm Your Fan tribute compilation, is responsible for the metamorphosis of an obscure mid-eighties album track to a stone cold classic of our time. He deserves (but hasn't always gotten) credit for realizing the full potential of a song that simply failed to make an impression in its original guise (though, in fairness to Leonard Cohen, John Cale was moved to his cover after witnessing LC performing it live).

Jeff Buckley heard Cale's arrangement first (i.e. prior to Leonard Cohen's original) and subsequently stole it based his rendition on it. We all know what happened next.

If you like Jeff Buckley singing other people's songs then the 2 CD version of Live at Sin-é should be right up your street.

All Flowers In Time should've been on that Best Of released years ago. It deserves as wide an audience as possible, beautiful.

He was a very talented guy very cool. Died too young in such a tragic way that's sad. I really love most all of his music.
Your right he was really good live I agree:agree:

Morning Theft is on Sketches for My Sweetheart (Disc 1) - I actually prefer CD1 of that 'album' over over Grace. Such a shame he couldn't finish it.

All Flowers In Time was only played live to my recollection - I'm sure it would be on YouTube.

I have not listened to much of his other music, but Grace is among my favorite albums. I still have my original Grace CD, the Deluxe version and the recent Sony vinyl. A wonderfully gifted vocalist, with a compelling presence.

Love his music. Just incredible stuff from this guy. He was really, really...really cookin' at the time he died. He was in the middle of something pretty special. It's a snapshot we are left with...but just so good

I must be careful when I listen to The Sky Is A Landfill because for some reason it gives me the urge to smash everything on the floor. I think it is so full of unreleased rage that I can't just sit and listen.

Yep - towards the music industry.

I used to misinterpret it as anger towards organised religion (e.g. "Garbage dump of souls") like Eternal Life.
