Joe Cocker Doc " Mad Dog With Soul " Just Added To Netflix

I had checked earlier, nothing. Now it's loaded, and ready to be watched !

 

What is it?

 

A doc on Joe. I really enjoyed it, and I'm only a casual fan, only owning him on compilations. I imagine a bigger fan would enjoy it even more so.

I watched it last night and I thought it was very good. Lots of interesting interviews. They also talked about Leon Russell a bit in relation to the Mad Dogs tour.

I also.found it.odd.how Joe.split.from his manager Michael Lang. I agree when they said that Michael basically saved Joe.

Just watching it now. Interviews with Joe's older brother Vic Cocker, Chris Stainton and Glyn Johns among others.

Saw it last week and thought it was good not overwhelmingly great. Wish they hadn't used bits and pieces of "With A Little Help From My Friends" every 20 seconds. I don't know much of his music but it seemed to belittle his career down to just one song.

 

Then you weren't giving it your full attention. They reminded me just how many different songs Joe was responsible for. If Friends was played that often, I obviously didn't notice it, or wasn't bothered by it.

I think the point was that Friends put him on the map. Great doc.

 

Loved the first half. Thought is got weaker later but maybe that's just because the early time period is what I love the most.

Wish they squeezed in part of his clip from Across the Universe singing Come Together though.
