......I'm not a Priest or Metal fan but this is fab album, probably due to Simon Phillips input. I only have the 'loud' remaster, can I do better? Thanks.

The original CD is fine, though it's not going to win any awards.

So the old cd is definitely better than the remaster?

Any more opinions? What about the bonus tracks on the remaster?

Yep! but make sure you get the original cd or vinyl DON'T get the remaster it sounds crap!

  5. Ive got both and I do prefare the Remaster.
Its one of the few Remasters from the their box set that I actually like.
Ive always found the original "hollow" sounding. There is next to no Bass.
Overall tho the ramasters are a botch job.Not Recomended.

I hope Kevin chimes in here. Did we establish that all original Sin After Sin CDs are the same mastering? The old US Columbia included? I thought the US might have been level shifted a bit compared to the original Japanese. Does anyone know?

Ha ha. :) I just looked at this one again, but I can't remember. This is what I have noted down, but I'll double check:

old US Col the same as, but level shifted vs the Austria Col; 25-8P same too

I know a lot of people don't like the original, but man, it just sounds so smooth to me, and it really comes alive when you crank it. IMO, the remaster is: Total. Sonic. Garbage. Tweaked EQ, and very compressed.

Thanks, brother. The originals of this are getting harder to find, it seems. Everyone should grab one now.
