    Hi!

I would like to hear your opinion on Kef
speakers. Are they worth buying? I prefer
    floor-standing speakers.Are they good ones
to play all kind of music (old, new, pop, rock, jazz)?

My cds are mostly 50s-70s rock, pop and 50s-70s jazz.

I've been looking for some Kef speakers
    in the price range $450 - $700/pair.There
are Q and other Kef series (Q,Cresta,Coda) but which ones
    to choose?now that's a tough call :(

I believe the "Q" series are on the high end side of the KEF line. I am not up to date with the KEF line, though.

Are you talking new, used or vintage?

Lived with a pair of 105SIIs for more than a decade.

Great sound, but not really meant for rock. Main gripe for me in those instances for those particular speakers, was that while the bass was deep, it was also quite loose and undefined.

Strongest point is imaging, and except for the above, they were anything I could expect from a loudspeaker.

Gary!: I'm talking about new speakers. Could buy some used Kef speakers as well ;) (no vintage speakers).
