Amazon are shipping me a new copy of The Elder. Hopefully this one is noise free.

Now this, I'm curious about. I think I'm going to just live with mine, because I haven't heard of any quiet ones. Please let us know how this turns out. Thanks!

Did you let a Gort know? I emailed Hodgo (Graham) late last night. I forgot to copy the link he sent me, to the end of pt. 4. By the time I went to do it, pt. 4 was already closed. Sorry.

Just a reminder to the members: When we get to page 40, and you want to go to the next part, just go to "staff", see what staff is online, start a conversation with one of them, asking to open another part, and "presto", we'll have the next part.

Hi everybody. Can you believe this thread is still going? Good to see the love for KISS.
As a side note, I think the quality overall on the reissues has been outstanding. It goes to show that records can be pressed properly and done right. I am looking forward to the new Beatles mono remasters as well and from what I heard they are of top notch quality. Goes to show it can be done.
Any other Kiss fans getting the new Beatles mono LP's?
    Have a great weekend everybody!

I wish I could get The Beatles mono set, just don't have the bread. Totally psyched for those that are getting it:)

Oh I'm buying them 1 or 2 at a time as I can afford it. I have family to take care of too! So I will get these like I did the Kiss records. As I can justify spending the money. This year with all the fabulous music and reissues being released has killed my expendable cash supply!!

Yes, even though there's been so much music to purchase (seems to be more than usual). I had the box on preorder from Amazon. It never came down in price from $375. So, I cancelled the Amazon order late last night, and ordered the box, with free shipping, for $336 from Acoustic Sounds. I hated to do it, because I'm really taking a chance that these will be free of defects. If it's within $20, I'll always go with Amazon for vinyl. Returns are free and easy. However, for $40, I've gotta take a chance. If I have a single defect, it will end up costing me the exact same as with Amazon, only with a bunch more hassle.

So yes, I'm getting it, and hope these were pressed perfectly.

As a side note, none of my Kiss records have been defective. If I were to send one back, it would be Elder, but I'm afraid it would be noisy as well. :)

I don't blame you. $40 is a big difference. From what I have heard these are supposed to be of high quality. Keep us informed .

    In Kiss reissue news:

I received 3 emails from Amazon last night, re: delays. A few titles were pushed to Sep. 30th, I think.

I get so many emails from Amazon regarding delays of these Kiss titles.....I just delete them. I can't and don't even keep track anymore. When they get here, they get here.

I did receive a stray....."Crazy Nights" earlier in the week. I'll clean it and play it this weekend. :)

I think Mij mentioned picking it up. I'm sure he'll chime in in any case.

I'm not a Beatles fan, but I'm still curious to hear how well these have been done. I'd be willing to bet they're top-notch.

You know, I think we should all think about doing a KISS News thread after this topic of the Reissues has died. This thread has been such a positive experience, I say we need some sort of ongoing KISS thread.

    I feel your pain, brotha.

Actually, they're aren't too many to keep up with, now:

The Elder, Rock and Roll Over: currently available.
    Solo albums: Sept 23
    ALIVE II, Creatures: Sept 30

Those are all Amazon US dates. The only ones I'm planning on getting are the Gene solo (I already have Paul's) and possibly Creatures (depending on mix and sound quality).
