I tried GVF and I was like "I'd rather just listen to Zeppelin." Some folks here on the forum didn't love the latest BCC album. I think it's right up there with the first two but ll are really good!
I thought it was great. I heard them & loved them without knowing the lineup of the band. Gods talk about talent. GVF has talent, but they need to find their own sound. So yeah, until they do Zeppelin it is for me too!
Re: GVF I watched one of their videos again and then Youtube went to an interview with them so I watched that too. They were asked about influences and didn't even mention Zeppelin! Hogwash! I looked up chart placings for BCC and the latest album didn't even crack the Top 100. Even in the current music state and how easy it is to chart with just a few thousand copies, I was amazed it placed so low. I guess classic hard rock is dead commercially.
OMFG! Zeppelin is the only thing I hear! It's as if this kid is trying to channel nothing but Plant. Overly overtly completely Zeppelin. I swear to god I want to get in their face and go all Sam Kinison on their a$$!!! WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY ? WHAT? NO ZEPPELIN INFLUENCE? DO YOU WANT ME TO REACH IIN AND RIP OUT YOUR VOCAL CORDS? SAY IT! SAY IT! SAY IT NOW! sniff sniff ok you're right we tried to pretend we were Zeppelin. sniff we're sorry we won't do it no more I can respect a young band sounding like their influence when they're starting out, but I can't respect a band that obviously lies about it. That's just..... what's the word I'm looking for....... oh yeah DISRESPECTFUL! I can not believe that about BCC! Wow! They're so awesome. The only explanation is that for too many their taste is all in their mouth! Not like us
Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but Vinnie Vincent is supposed to be on Eddie Trunk's show on Sirius any minute now--channel 106 (and it's currently just after 2:30 p.m. Eastern time, January 19, 2018). Trunk is at the KISS convention in Atlanta.
Good info. Thanks. I’ll listen despite despising Eddie Trunk with every fiber of my being (well, that might be a bit of an overstatement, but I don’t like him very much).
Vinnie just hopped on! If you have the app or log in online you can rewind back. The segment itself will say Vinnie Vincent.
So I thought he came across really well . . . but it just didn't seem like a very substantive interview.
To defend Eddie for a moment...he is One of the only people who kept metal alive in NYC for decades...when no one else would play metal here. He played and promoted bands, live shows...long before VH1 came calling.
I know Eddie is a knowledgeable dude. To be fair, and honest, I feel like I could be Eddie Trunk (but better). I’m just jealous if I’m being truthful. I could (and have remotely) kill(ed) him in “Stump the Trunk” everytime. Still, he’s Eddie Trunk and I’m a schmuck from Texas :/
