I wonder if they will bill themselves as Kurt & Courtney? Wait, haven't I already heard of them?

 

Very much looking forward to hearing this album. First single drops today!

Almost as exciting as the album is this touring band! Grabbed tickets to see them -- on Halloween, no less!

Like Kurt Vile.... but this song does nothing for me at all... His 2 last albums are great... Based on 1 song is not making want to run out and pre-order it..

I've never really "got" either of them -- and this track does nothing to convince me. Still I'm sure their fans will be excited for the project!

 

Curious why you bothered to start the thread then? I assumed you were a fan of one or both of them...

Mmm, much closer to the style of Wakin' On A Pretty Daze than the mostly solo acoustic drudge of his last one. Can't even remember what it was called. I only played it once.

But I don't like duets.

 

Because I know they both have fans here, and I saw a mention on Facebook-- I figured there would be interest!

 

I'm not very familiar with Kurt Vile but I love Courtney's stuff.

I have tickets for the LA shows, one of which appears to be in a large Catholic church.

 

Wow, that song seems like it's 20 minutes long.

 

I've loved pretty much everything Kurt Vile has released, so I expect to like this album as well. One of the most vital musicians working today.

 

This is great! I'm a big Courtney Barnett fan and I really dig that last album from Kurt Vile (not too familiar with his other work yet). I think I'll preorder the Milkcrate version.

 

I'll admit I know almost nothing about Kurt Vile. But if he's Courtney's friend and they made an album together, that's good enough for me. I expect I'll be checking out his other albums soon.

I was just comparing a new Peter Perrett song to both of them because they have such a similar style. They're a good fit for each other.

 

Thought they would add a second show at the beacon in NYC but instead there is this option in Jersey City:

Don't know anything about Courtney Barnett, but I do like Kurt Vile, so I'll be happy to give this album a shot. This definitely looks like it's going to be one of those collaborations where they're too similar musically rather than too different, though. Let's see how it turns out.

 

I like what I've heard from both these artists separately, but not together based on that song.
Their voices don't complement each other's well.
Vile's voice went well in his duet with Hope Sandoval "Let Me Get There".

 

LOVING this new single!! Kurt and Courtney casually meandering their way through verses (as they are want to do) and then a sweet 2-minute dueling guitar climax to end it?! I hope every song on the album is like this.

Also, I think I am now officially more excited for the tour than the album. This is going to be something special.

 

Love Courtney, Kurt hasn't done much for me in the past. Really like this song and the video.
