I haven’t purchased anything in quite a while but two preorders from s9me time ago arrived: Elvis Costello’s and John Hiatt’s.
Pickings are slim here,so I buy from the internet mostly. The other day though I went to the recycle center at our local dump. 20 odd cd's in mint condition. 5 cd set on JSP Big Bill Broonzy Jesse Fuller Clifton Chenier Blind Lemon Jefferson 4 Blind Gary Davis 2 Blind Willie McTell Blind Snooks Elgin a new guy for me Ernie Hawkins Danny Gratton plus a few mastered by Our Host John Lee Hooker on Mainstream Raiders of the Lost Ark on DCC and one I think he would enjoy Moonlight in Vermont Johnny Smith on Roulette so I am good for a week or so.
Bought a bit earlier today: The recordings of Genesis’ Abacab and Roxy Music’s Avalon are original issues with no remastering.
Went to a record show today and fortunately bought very little. Decided to pass on a pricey UK first of Matching Mole's second LP. I have nice US copy. I bought Roedelius' Self Portrait III on vinyl. In Stephen Liffe's book Painting With Sound he rates it as "inessential". Somehow in that mix I bought a German press of Sting's first LP. It has Omar Hakim on it, and a few ok songs. Most likely I'll play it once or twice. Oh, and I nearly completed my import collection of Vangelis records with a Holland copy of Spiral. To the Unknown Man will blare from the speakers in short order. Met a fine chap at the show who is palls with a few of the Gentle Giant members. He did try and bring Three Friends to Toronto, but the Montreal promoter wasn't having it.
Bought at the Flea Market this past weekend, all used vinyl: Genesis- ...and then there were three... Rolling Stones- Hot Rocks 1964-1971 Journey- Infinity Sammy Hagar- Standing Hampton
