Recently watched "The Undefeated" (John Wayne) blu-ray (just released several weeks ago). An ok western (set just after the Civil War), but a truly beautiful blu-ray transfer- crystal clear and outstanding color!

I finished up disc 3 of Trek Enterprise this morn. I've been working on the set for a few weeks now. I think that I've contracted Pinar's Disease.... ;)

BRANDED TO KILL. Directed by Seijun Suzuki. Wild and crazy, and ultra-hip.

Tequila Sunrise 1997 - Very good film with a great cast. What strikes me about it now is the incredibly slow pacing compared to a modern film.

More hip strangeness from Japanese director Seijun Suzuki:

Visually stunning, highly stylized, the plot still something of a bowl of ramen :rolleyes::D.

"Bloodsuckers" (aka "Doctors Wear Scarlet, "Freedom Seekers", Incense Of The Damned"). At least Peter Cushing, Patrick Macnee & Edward Woodward were in it.

I enjoyed the pacing of this...not like today a scene change every 13 seconds.:D

I enjoyed it too. I didn't get dizzy once trying to follow the quick cuts.

I haven't watched it on TV (or DVR) at all. This is my first run through the series. Season 3 is in the mail.

I watched The Lone Ranger last evening. I liked the comic edge that Johnny Depp added. However, the film was overly long. When it's this expensive to produce a film by the minute, why in hell do they keep pumping up the minutes?

Also, I finished up season two of Trek Enterprise. The show just entered it's best part, the Zendi conflict.

I agree with your take on the Lone Ranger for the most part. I think I have developed Depp fatigue though. I would like to see him dig into a good dramatic role to see if he can still actually act without goofy makeup.

I really like him in period pieces. I'd love to see him in something in the vein of From Hell, maybe as a Scotland Yard man again or a railroad detectives after the James or Hole In The Wall Gang, maybe....? Westerns seem to be a tough sell these days.

Don't know if there are any Luis Bunuel fans here. Bunuel's trademarks are surrealism, satire and subversion. Enjoyed this one last night:

I haven't seen this one yet but have seen 6 other films by Bunuel and liked them all.
