Black Swan. Hated it. Don't see how it got all the hype and awards.

I can see how some folks would think that. I thought that it was a depressing film but damn original and ironic. I'll watch it again someday, probably...?

Powerful, heady stuff. This one will warrant repeated viewings.

It was OK, typical Statham picture. My wife liked it more than I......but then again she likes Statham ;)

Was trying to figure out his stereo system, got a really good look at the TT and tube amp, a couple of quick glimpses of the speakers.

I'm...."...a little buttercup..."...yeah, I watched Three Amigos on BD. I thought that the audio was better than the video. Somebody had mentioned compression artifacts in their review...might have been Wayne...I saw some small ones and one rather large aberration despite watching it on my little 34" tube TV.

  11. I didn't find it all that original either to be honest--it's "Repulsion" crossed with "The Red Shoes".

As with all of DA's movies I found it's pretension overwhelmed whatever artistic merit there was.

Super 8 - OK, but too much a copy of Spielberg stuff we've seen before

Horrible Bosses - A decent dark comedy, but there are better ones.

If I've ever seen Repulsion, I don't remember it anymore. The Red Shoes I've seen. So, the math isn't adding up for me. I don't have much of an opinion as to how pretentious ole Darren's films are, but he's sure 'nuff an expert at making damn depressing films. Of the ones I've seen, I'd say Black Swan is the best. It'll be a hard film to watch a second time anytime soon. It's bad mood food....

I watched Brides Maids on BD last night. It had some good laughs here and there. I thought it was a bit too long. I just think it would of played better 15 minutes, or so, shorter.

I start this every post Thanksgiving-early December. The Superstation marathons drilled it into me in childhood.

I watched a Blu double feature last night. First was X-Men First Class. I enjoyed it. Although I found the use of real, historical events in the plot both perverse and interesting. I liked Kevin Bacon's part. My second film was The Hollywood Knights. This film is entirely dumb but fun. I like how it was a showcase for quite a few up and coming actors.
