I didn't say there wasn't. But are you suggesting there wasn't "feeling" in every Sam Cooke / Otis Redding song that sound nearly identical to these tracks?

I added a couple more to the original post. The one for "River" is especially beautiful.

Well, You Send Me (pop 1, R&B 1); he wrote it. Only Sixteen, he wrote that one too. Wonderful World, co-wrote it.

Chain Gang, Cupid, Twistin' the Night Away, Bring It On Home To Me, Having A Party, Somebody Have Mercy, Another Saturday Night, Ain't That Good News, Good Times, Shake, A Change Is Gonna Come; he wrote all of those - all of his signature songs.

He also wrote these when he was with the Soul Stirrers: Nearer To Thee, Be With Me Jesus, That's Heaven To Me; among others.

But then again, when did interpretive singing stop being a talent?

Especially when you're the greatest to ever do it.

    In my opinion.

Inarguably, he's in the discussion of greatest singers of all time.

Mr. Bridges will be appearing on Ellen Degeneres this week. Wow. That is a long way from washing dishes.

Finally borrowed this album from the library and think it's great. Very consistent and interesting. Feels like an album. Has anyone heard it on vinyl?

I splurged for the vinyl. In the days of high priced vinyl, this one is only $16.50 on Amazon.

Pretty crazy timing that on the night after he did SNL that he'll be an hour south of where I live tonight. Unfortunately, I can't attend (although it sold out a few weeks ago, I think, even before the SNL announcement). Happy that he's getting some shine.
