A lot of people on this forum like 12" versions, the ones from the 80's are loved but also the 90's does have a lot of great extended versions. What would be great if 12" lovers would give their choices for an ultimate 12" collection with a lot of volumes. Of course, for your own listening pleasure. Which 12" singles/extended versions would make a great 12" boxset? How would your boxset would look like of you could include the best 12" versions out there. Your ideas...

I really like my 12" version of "O, Superman" by Laurie Anderson.

That's a great one indeed. 8:21 minutes long if i'm not mistaken. Here we have the first one on the list. Keep your choices coming. I will add them to compile an ultimate out for example 10 or 20 volumes with 15 in each folder.

    Miss You - Stones
Superman and Low Budget - The Kinks (the album verions always seem like bad edits after you hear these)
Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go - Soft Cell
    Let's Dance - David Bowie
    Goodnight Tonight - Wings
Rock the Casbah - Clash (not extended, but a better mix)

Anything off disc A of New Order's Substance. My vote would be for "Thieves Like Us".

Wasn't that the same as the 7" version and the album version, i.e. 8+ minutes?

    Great track btw.

I would include a bunch of ZTT mixes (Art Of Noise, FGTH).

Just listening to one now actually! Chic "Good Times", probably my favourite bass line ever.

The Cure had a remix of "Pictures of You" on British 12-inch vinyl that hasn't appeared anywhere else -- different mixes have, but not that particular one.
    All of Prince.
    All of English Beat.
    Alison Moyet's "Invisible."

I wish Rhino/ Warner would put up Yes' Big Generator period 12 inch remixes up on i-Tunes. They're all way better than the ones that were done for 90125.

The full 10 minute-plus 12-inch mix of McFadden & Whitehead's "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now" leads my list.

    Also:

    Sparks - "Beat The Clock"
    T-Connection - "At Midnight"
    Double Exposure - "Ten Percent"
Gary Criss - "Rio de Janeiro"
Donna Summer - "MacArthur Park Suite"
Teri DeSario - "Ain't Nothing Gonna Keep Me From You"
    Kat Mandu - "The Break"
Jackie Moore - "This Time Baby"
    Lime - "Your Love"

    I'm missing a ton...
