Mine looks exactly the same as the web pic I posted, but thanks anyway. :)

I don't worry about album covers, just the LPs. I would go nuts. But I must say how impressed I was with a recent purchase of 'Fresh Cream' off eBay that was absolutely no different than if I had just purchased it in a 60s record store. The guy took excessive care of it, storing the LP and dust jacket outside of the cover. It's the only album I have that I would describe as dead mint, even though it's open.

Very neat and tidy! That looks like a very respectable number of LPs; certainly enough to make you stop and ponder over what to play next. Ikea shelves are great-- you can just keep adding to the sides or top and it retains a clean, uniform look to the whole.

I'll see if I can get a shot of one of my units when the light is better.

Try listening to the first three tracks of this then switch to the Amadeus Quartet set, first disc. I'd be interested in your impression.

Thanks!! Yes, tidy and organized for sure. I am very methodical...sometimes a bit OCD. You should see my walk in closet....it's all by shades of colours. At my desk in the office - same thing, but there it serves more of a functionality/ efficiency purpose.
Weird, because usually persons of my sign (Leo) are not like that.Virgos are known to be more like that. Not that I believe all to much in astrology, but for some things it's really true. I lived with a Virgo (my ex-husband) and he was beyond crazy tidy - it was getting scary, one of several reasons I stopped loving him. My second husband is very organized with his LPs and CDs and most things in life. I am glad we are similar, but without being completely obsessed if you know what I mean.
IKEA units are very practical and have the perfect dimensions for LPs. I wonder what else can migrate to the other shelves once the main cluster is full. Maybe I'll start moving the compilations??

They had a 20% off coupon, so I took advantage of it to order that LP. It definitely has quiet surfaces...almost like listening to a CD without the digital glare and thinness!

Love Tortelier on EMI. Either his early 60's recording or his 80's (i think 80's) one.
Maybe give them a listen :)

I'm also a Virgo. I'm mainly organized and a bit OCD, but I'm usually not overbearing about it. My CDs that are in storage bins usually aren't organized by any category; the ones on display are, as is my vinyl.
I pay a woman to come to my house every two weeks and clean a clean house.

I think all Virgos I have met in my life (and I know easily a dozen really well) are organized and care more about order and functionality.
My grandson is a Virgo (he's going to be 1 year old soon), it will be interesting to see how he grows up - since my oldest daughter is a bit messy and not very tidy...(she's a Scorpio).

It's good you want to live in an even cleaner house - you're helping someone to have an income!
    Congrats to you too!
