Interesting cast of characters! Also interesting that Lydia's track is the title of the second volume!

Just listening to "A Fistful of Desert Blues", and it is mighty fine stuff! The bluesy-drawl style suits Lydia's vocals perfectly. I'd have to say this probably the most accessible music Lydia's ever made!

I am somewhat disappointed that the vinyl doesn't include a digital download nor a printed inner sleeve, so there are no lyrics, credits, etc. May have to pick up the CD version (if anyone can verify whether it includes a lyric booklet).

Count me as a fan with a preference for her Teenage Jesus and 8 Eyed Spy work (although Queen of Siam is mighty special).

I posted this video link before in this thread, but listening again to the album and this song, "When You're Better", is so haunting. I thought I'd post it again for anyone that might have missed it (though it's not the entire song)...

    This album is highly recommended!

I have some of her spoken word on tape.
Its all about being abused and having no self-respect.
    Wonderfuil material.

Mike Gira did some along this line as well.

Another new Lydia album on the way -- I'm glad she seems to be sticking with one label now!

Yes, it was part of a spoken-word split cassette single called Hard Rock for Thurston Moore's Ecstatic Peace label. One side featured Lunch's piece ("Wet Me on a Dead Night") and the other featured Gira's ("I'm An Infant, I Worship Him"). Both are on YouTube and are not for the faint of heart.

At any rate, I'm super looking forward to her RSD release. I also picked up the Teenage Jesus and the Jerks - Live 1977-1979 LP over the weekend and have been cranking the hell out of it.
