Indeed. But the single was left unreleased.

And the "Distraction" clip in the "Put It There" documentary features an alternate mix/version.

If they just take the Japanese tour edition and slap on the two new videos, they won't get my money. Toss in a bonus track or two, though, and I will be powerless to resist. :shake: :agree:

Comes with the Archive Series Venus & Mars and Speed of Sound as bonus discs. That's why we've heard nothing of them.

I think this whole process of releasing new videos and now a new US version of New, nearly a year after initial release, is to keep it in Grammy contention.

$35 is steep for a US CD, even w/a bonus DVD. The Target deluxe was about $15, if I remember correctly.

And $35 is too little a pricey for any deluxe packaging (I'm Thinking some kind of box w/ book).

So if this $35 price holds, maybe it's a second CD plus a full length DVD?

This version would have to include Struggle (at least) for me to be tempted.

    Pure speculation.

Good point, and I certainly hope that it works. It was brilliantly reviewed, had a respectable charts position, and most the new songs go down well during live shows, so I hope that it does get the Grammy nomination, keeping Paul's record for being nominated going for 6 decades in a row.

Distractions is on my Paul list - top tier songs. Surprised it's not covered more.

But @Mazzy doesn't like it so it probably won't be.

Maybe there will be a bonus korava disc of live performances of the new songs

  14. I hope he gets nominated. I wouldn't let my personal taste get in the way of anyone's success.

Yep. Much better idea than some irrelevant mississippi delta imagery. Next he'll be telling us he wrote the song as a tribute to the civil rights movement in the 60s.....oh wait, he's done that already.

I listened to Flowers in the Dirt for the first time in years this week and was blown away by Distractions I thought exactly the same - would love to see that in his set list. I also thought it was about time My Brave Face got a run out, would love to hear the current band do a version of that, the drum sound is not too great on the original.

    Not that I know.
Tony Bennett would do a great version.

Is anyone else here a fan of the show Veep? I think that it is an absolutely great series, and I am glad to see it winning so many awards.

Anyway, the reason that I mention this is because I have just watched the second episode of Season 2, and to my delight, one of the main characters says to another character that he should listen to the new McCartney album. I am very happy to see such a critically acclaimed show have a character say something positive about New, and it came as a complete surprise to me.

For $35 I expect a complete show from his current tour on blu-ray added to everything else.

I would pay that if there is a new song.
