Some great Linda McCARTNEY pics from the Venus & Mars New Orleans sessions, with Allen Toussaint for the " Rock Show " nice piano coda, and with the Tuxedo brass band for the overdub for " Baby Face "

 

Man, really digging all these threads. Check out the upside-down Fender Jazz bass, still strung right-handed. Does we think he cut the track that way?!

Under what circumstances were you at these sessions? Must be a good story

Not too much of a story. I am from and still live in New Orleans. (Only 2 blocks from the old Sea Saint studio in fact.) I sing and play guitar. The engineer at the time, Skip, used me quite a bit for background vocals. I had just done an album with Frankie Ford (of Sea Cruise fame) and a Frey hot dog commercial. I had also just gotten a nice camera for Christmas a couple of months before. Skip called me, said come to the studio and bring your camera. He knew I was a HUGE Beatles/Paul fan! And that's how it happened. Dream of a lifetime for me!

 

There's about a half a dozen of other fan pics outside the studio with Paul wearing the same clothes in your shots so it's cool seeing your different angles. Would've been great to have been there.

You forgot to mention that this shot is by Linda McCartney. How cool is that???
