Never heard of Analog Sparks before. Do they do good work? Who does mastering for them?

There are already two SACDs of this album in circulation, a stereo only and a stereo / multichannel one, both single layer discs (with no Red Book CD layer). What's this release going to offer?

Hopefully some midrange, but I wouldn't count on it.

I'd really love a new SACD with good audio for both Multi and stereo. By the time I was able to buy SACDs the previous releases were OOP and mostly had bad audio reviews so I passed.

Meatloaf Bat Out of Hell - What Went Wrong? »

See this thread. When I first got the multichannel SACD I quite liked it, but a repeat listen today suggests it is one of the worst surround mixes I have heard. Given that some of the multitrack tapes have been lost in a fire the chances of a better mix aren't great.

According to their website Kevin Gray is mastering it

Will it be on a "Digital Sparks" sub-label?

  17. Alright, now you have my attention! I've something of a habit for collecting (what seems like a million) reissues of Pet Sounds, often without hearing any significant improvements over previous versions, while my partner is similarly obsessive when it comes to Bat Out Of Hell, so I might just have to get this one for her birthday...

Never heard of them before either, but I like what I'm reading on their site.
Looking at The Raspberries, this is how an AAA record should be listed: "Mastered and cut from the original stereo tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio"

Looks like very transparent source lineage info on almost every release.

I would love to own some Jim Steinman on SACD finally. I think my holy grail for early 80's would be to have Bonnie Tyler's Faster than the Speed of Night (and Stevie Nicks first two albums on SACD.)

Analog Sparks vinyl titles remind me of the titles at Goodwill. Minus the Brubeck and Raspberries.

If Kevin is doing it, he will know how to fill in the midrange.
