It would be nice to continue this closed thread - Mellow 70s and 80s Songs - as well as adding the 1960s - I have found a BUNCH of songs unexpectedly, and have changed my day into discovering music, and hopefully more songs.

There are tons of these melllw songs! This thread could feasibly go on for many many hundreds of pages! Right this moment I'm enjoying 5th Dimension "One Less Bell To Answrt".

Hundreds of pages would be great -- it'd only mean finding a ton of great music. Out of every thread (even ones I've created) that seems to be the most successful in terms of quality but discovery, too.

It's crazy that it went 2 years with no replies! Hopefully not this time!

P.S. - I actually found another great song by 5th Dimension on that page :)

Great song from a teriffic LP! "The BEATLES" is my favorite LP of all time. This is really saying something as I've always regarded The Beatles as very untalented and grossly overrated, but this album brims with unpredictability, humor, beauty, strangeness, raucousness, and most of all adventure!

  13. Rumer does a great version of this fabulous song. Not 60s or 70s but fab nonetheless.

Unfortunately there's no video from Supertramp (or even Roger Hodgson)... "Know Who You Are"

One of my favorite songs, The Beach Boys "In My Room" sounds way ahead of its time! It's the B-side of the single "Be True to Your School" issued in 1963.

Of course there were scads and scads of mellow instrumentals from the 60s and 70s, this being one of my favorites "Stranger On The Shore" by Acker Bilk & The Leon Young String Chorale released in '61.

My favorite song of theirs, but I thought I'd put a song by them not as recognized.
