Although I has suspected that he was going to die the entire season, McDreamy's death on Grey's was still quite a shock. It seems just when Grey's hits a lull, smack! Let's kill a main character or multiple main characters! Grey's while once a great show has steadily moved to a ridiculous parody of itself (see both musical episodes) Perhaps it's time to think about wrapping it up and start something new. Between Derek being killed and Christina leaving, if Mereidith "bounces back" like nothing happened, I'm going to be really upset.

I was affected by that one episode of Boardwalk Empire where a teenage kid (Nick Robinson, currently in Jurassic World) manages to save Nucky and help him hide in a house taken over by rival bootleggers. Even though the kid protects Nucky and his henchman for 24 hours, because the kid stole some of Nucky's own bootleg whiskey several weeks before, Nucky waited for the kid to turn around and he shot him in the back of his head.

I was stunned because they had built up the kid's part to be a very fleshed-out character, to the point where I figured he might be "the new Jimmy Darmody." Not to be. The show took far too many left turns like this to me, and eventually I kinda gave up on it.

Nobody specified that "TV deaths" had to be fictional, so how about a real-life murder seen live by millions?

For that matter, you could add John Ritter's death and the effect it had on "8 Simple Rules", or Phil Hartman's death and "Newsradio", but that's a whole 'nother thread...

Way back when, when I first got on the internet, it was one of the first things I looked for. It took me at least a year or two to find it. I wish I found better quality, but beggars can't be choosy. :)

Me too. I dropped HBO (for various reasons) and didn't even watch the last season.

Every time I was watching Star Trek and a red shirted guy beamed down, just as soon as I got attached to them, they got killed. Shocked me every time.

What is dumb about this is I had read they are bringing her back. How do you do that? Regular TV can be pretty bad.

NCIS when the first female lead got a bullet in her head, on the roof, the wound just appeared it was quite heavy for that type of show.
