...well I would say my choice would be Apocalypto. This Mayan kingdom in decline epic can't be beat for action, drama and adventure. Mel Gibson must be proud of this one.

I'm sure he is...he's done some great work throughout the years...Beaveheart comes to mind...it also has one of the most beautiful soundtracks in a movie.

Fargo, Ronin, Pusher, The Game, Carlos, Mesrine, Goodbye Lenin, Lives of others, Flame & Citron, just to name the few that I intentionally want to rewatch, not counting any of the others that I have to see because they randomly appear on television or someone else decides it's a good idea to watch.

I'm guessing there are fewer movies I've seen once than movies I've seen multiple times. Even "in the theatre," there are movies I've seen in double digits.

2001: A Space Odyssey, This is Cinerama, How the West Was Won, Lawrence of Arabia, Lost in Translation, Vertigo, Rear Window -- all definitely over ten in-theatre viewings, and probably the same with Gone with the Wind, This is Spinal Tap. Likely some others I'm spacing out on right now. (No pun intended.)

With the death of gi-normous 70mm/Cinerama theatres, the days of paying to see films over and over and over are just about done for me, though.

I think two movies that knocked me out as a little kid were In Like Flint and You Only Live Twice, both 1967 spy movies. I was the perfect age for movies like this -- 12 -- and this was back in the day when they'd let you sit in the theater all day if you wanted to. I saw both movies three times on two different weekends in the spring and summer of '67. Both terrifically silly films with cheesy special effects, good laughs, and spectacular stunts. In 1968, I went back to see 2001 at least three times in the Tampa Cinerama theater, but on three separate occasions.

There are a handful of films I bet I've seen 4o or 50 times on video all the way through. Psycho, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Casablanca, and Citizen Kane are way, way up there. I could still watch any of them today and not be sick of them. I've also seen Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Peter Pan many, many times, probably at least 30-40 times.

Same here. Just too many to name.
But I've noticed that the films I truly admire and love are the ones that I don't rewatch that often - in fact, very rarely. I prefer to save those for special occasions.
For everyday viewing, gimme entertaining action flicks and comedies any day of the week (cheesy and corny though they may be).
Last night, for instance, I caught Jackie Chan's Police Story on one of the channels and had a lot of fun rewatching it for the zillionth time.

The Kubrick movies and the Bonds are surely my most watched ones. Some of you can find it somewhat disgusting, but I saw "Die Another Day" 3 times at the theater...so you can imagine how many times I watched all the rest..

My wife thinks I'm nuts for watching FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS over and over again. Guess must have seen it about 22 times since it was first released and I never get tired of it.

Are you talking about TV also?

If not, as I would hope because that goes into the dozens, in the theater is The Blues Brothers. I was going to say Fargo, but that was a Blockbuster videotape at my in-laws.

Edit: There are some movies that I watch every time I see them on TV.

That was my point. Maybe the people above saw all those movies in the theater multiple times, but I doubt it.

A great thread. I'd just like to see what most people have thought was good enough to go back the theater to see more that once. As far as I can remember, I saw Animal House 3 times in 6 weeks. The first time I couldn't hear a lot of the dialogue because there was too much laughter! Great movie IMO.
