yeah we're here. we're just too busy turning over the 45s every six minutes or so and tweaking the speakers for full Blue Note impact. all this work puts a crimp in one's forumizing, i spose.

I have all the blue notes since issue 1.
I can't keep up and barely play what I have
I wish they would seriously consider going to 33 1/3
Less inspired to keep getting up and having the music interrupted

Seriously these sound great but doubt the slower speed on 50 year old recordings is distinctive

Same issue with bill evans riverside and miles prestige boxsets.

Please MM put out Paul Chambers Bass on Top

nice to see this thread bumped... I've been listening to a few of these here and there, but haven't bought a new one for awhile. Just last night I was listening to Shades Of Redd. I'm thinking about picking up In 'N Out, Free For All, and/or Speak Like A Child. All great albums.

Since I'm not familiar with most of the titles, I am taking my time going through them, only opening one when I feel the need. I probably only have about 10 of them opened so far...

    Which titles are coming next??

I'm glad to see this thread bumped - this is my first visit.
I've got all of the titles from the beginning for each of the Blue Note series - and I must admit I'm looking forward to the end.
I can't keep up anymore and tend to listen to each title two or three times and then file them.
Loving the Verve subscription as well but hoping I have no excuse to spend more money after it's finished.

    Thanks RaceTripper -
not looking forward to the Larry Young too much, though Grant Green's guitar always sounds amazing in this series.
Will be my first listen to Basra - that's always fun.

I have really became a Sam Rivers fan since these MM LP's started. So much that I sought out all that he recorded with Blue Note. With Sam Rivers and Elvin Jones, I'm definitely looking forward to the Larry Young album.

Yeah, count me in for that Larry Young, OK the Basra would make for a nice listen, as well.

I have most of the BN catalog in the original form, but find that I only turn to these when I stoke up the ole' 845's. Kind of makes me wonder why I hang onto the originals. Nostalgic, I guess to look over and see them all there. I don't have the time that I used to spend spinning wax as I would like, but I have to admit that for the past 3 years I do reach for my M&M's first. A sweet treat when I have a few hours to concentrate on records.

I have a pretty good collection although I'm not a subscriber. I've been into the AP Prestige mono reissues lately. They're excellent.

Agreed 100%... especially considering that his favorites are Evolution and One Step Beyond. For me, the other must-have on that list is Indestructible! by Art Blakey.

I didn't see Wayne Shorter's "Speak No Evil" on your list, but it was a released in May and is one of MM's best IMHO.

The Sam Rivers album I would love to see MM release is Contours. Four songs all right around 10 minutes... it would be perfect for 45 rpm.

You, and every other Sam River fan. That is one of his most sought after albums.
