I have an old Shure M97 cartridge (it was my father's) that will take a Jinco N97HE stylus, and I have a Shure M97x cartridge that will take the N97xE SAS stylus. Which will have a better sound do you think?

I have personally used the M97xE with the JICO SAS. It sounds great to my ears. I ran it on a Technics SL-1200, until I moved the SL-1200 to the shop. Since then I put the stylus on a Realistic RXT6 P-mount cartridge on a SL-M2. The SAS is a line contact type stylus, and has taller, but narrower contact with the groove. It can reveal a bit more surface noise if you have dirty grooves. For good clean vinyl you can't run a better stylus for a Shure, without spending a fortune.
