One thing's for sure: you'll have to pry my On the Beach DVD-A from my cold, dead fingers!

 

Of course, the hi-res version of OtB available from Neil's store is essentially the same thing.

 

if they are HDCD and if they are in plastic, i will buy both and return the 2 (stars & bars and on the beach) that i already have the HDCD versions of, if they are not HDCD, i will not be buying the 5 CD set (8.5 - 12).sticking with my original 5, non-HDCD, discs. the 5 - 8 set is essential for 'time fades away", sadly.....i say sadly because i will spending almost $40 for one CD. ( i might get a couple backs for the other 3 in trade.)

actually, the best case scenario (if they are non-HDCD) for the serious fans who already have all of these except TFA would be if they decide to sell these individually. then we will only have to buy 1 CD. but i'm sure the powers that be already know this, and are probably not going to give us that option.

Looks like a U.S. / Canada only release at this point, all European outlets have this at import price or not at all.

I pre-ordered both sets from Amazon yesterday -- does that count?

 

Well I have decided to hang on. The main reason being that I would take a budget release on these similar to the one for the first four, which I saw still on sale on Friday in HMV for £12. I already have the albums on CD apart from TFA and am fairly happy with the mastering and very happy with the mastering on the 2003 OTB and ASABs.

Do people think both these sets will happen in May or anytime this year? Odd that there seems to be no European release which kind of mirrors what is happening in the official high res download world. I ordered the Time Fades set from Amazon.com but who knows.

Looks like these are delayed for a month.....Now June 16 per Amazon.

 

Just got an email from Amazon saying these sets have been moved to June 16.

 

I will believe they are out when I see them.
