Neko Case, k.d. lang, Laura Veirs album "case/lang/veirs" due June 17, 2016

and I really don't mind that one bit. I would imagine that all three would have songs where they sing lead. That would make sense.

 

Whoops! My error, I completely missed that. Much more reasonable.

 

It would be harder to miss if they just went with it as the default option!

According to the trio, the singers came together a few years ago after Lang sent an email to Case and Veirs that simply read, "I think we should make a record together." Despite barely being acquainted with one another, "Laura and I both responded immediately," Case said in a statement. "There was no question." The album's 14 original songs were penned and recorded over the span of two-and-a-half years.

 

Way to go k.d. for reaching out. The first song sounds great. Can't say I've ever heard of Laura Veirs before The Roches live on!

Just read about this (as I am still on the Celebrate Brooklyn mailing list and would absolutely be there if I hadn't moved) but will most certainly be going for tickets in Atlanta now. What a dream project and would be great to see k.d. again (many times over 24 years), to see Neko Case for the first time (was out of town when she came this way in this fall) and Laura Veirs, who I'm already well impressed by. Simply thrilled!

Dude, just want to thank you for the Roches shout - I was in already but that certainly would've sealed it.

Looks like the Atlanta show has been binned from the schedule (per the website a/o today anyway) so I'm off to Austin instead - way happier about that in fact as a) it's indoors and b) I snagged 4th row tickets.

I think it will unquestionably be the highlight of my 2016 concert-going! Can't wait for the album.

I just streamed this album last night on NPR. What a beautiful album. I thought they would stray more country but they go way beyond that. Great melodies, harmonies and arrangements. A must buy for me when the vinyl comes out.
