Oops, thought Nonagon was a 2017 album. So, Crumbling Castle will be the 4th, and maybe a Christmas album for their 5th?
My thoughts exactly! I've only known of three released so far. Which is fine, don't get me wrong, even only three fantastic albums in one year is more than I'd dream of from most non Robert Pollard bands.
I was able to snag an Australian pressing of Sketches of Bruswick vinly, and it sounds remarkable, a near perfect pressing!
So "Crumbling Castle" is the first song off the new album, Polygondwanaland, which drops for free this weekend. Different masters for different formats! No word on a physical release. There may not be one?
Hey gang, I posted this over in another thread not knowing this place exists. Here's a list of the labels that have picked up the new album so far: POLYGONDWANALAND MEGATHREAD • r/KGATLW There are some pretty sweet pressings from the list, if you're into colored-vinyl (and good luck keeping the album's page on discogs updated ). ATO have also announced plans for an upcoming physical release.
After looking at all of the vinyl options available, I decided to go with the Vinyl Moon release. Their releases look awesome and are held in high regard. It will have a tip-on jacket and will be pressed at Gotta Groove Records. Plus they are donating the profits to RAINN which is a great charity.
Love these guys. I've been getting all their releases on vinyl since mind fuzz. Wish I could see them live!
This kind of sucks to be honest, i just want to buy a decent vinyl pressing of this new album, I've preordered all of their albums this year. Im not interested in downloading files or diying my own physical copy even though it's free. It's fantastic that's it's free, dont get me wrong. Just release and press the album like normal people please Gizz.
"Inner Cell" is very nice. Also, I'm digging the rhythmic synth arpeggios that wind in and out of the mix throughout the album. Edit: "Tetrachromacy" - the harmonica finally appears. Yes!
Okay. So, IMO, "Crumbling Castle" is a good Gizzy track and a fine opening epic. However, it pales next to the prog suite that is the rest of the album. It is just incredible. This is probably the best of their albums put out this year. At least, that's my initial impression.
