Or perhaps the better question is why would they?

Logically the answer would seem to be they’ve not been told they’re dead in the water yet, but they are on near-permanent hold. I’d be shocked if UMe let’s them compete against the forthcoming UMe Dire Straits CD and vinyl boxes anytime soon - if ever, with the window quickly closing on physical disc sales.

Are you sure it wasn't the California Raisins?

    Very cool!

So, while I’m waiting for my copy to be delivered, who did the mastering?

Picks up what cost? Cost of meds for those stressed out by the delays? ;)

You forgot the Twisting By The Pool EP, add that to the Super Duper Uber SACD Box costing $450 (also comes with a Mark Knopfler autographed headband).

Anything unique about that Barry ? Length, mix, on my way to Discogs to see...

EDIT : A remix ! Dire Straits - Twisting By The Pool (Remix) / Where Do You Think You Are Going? Not an EP, but a 45.

I honestly don't know where you guys store all this info. I've been an albums fan of the band since 1979, but didn't know about this. Thanks !

I bought the Dire Straits ExtendeDancEPlay EP back in '83 when it first came out and still have it. I thought it might be worth something but looking at the Discogs listing not very much.

I really wanted that Rickie Lee Jones title :sigh:

MoFi did an outstanding job with Pirates, one of their best hybrid SACDs.

I have the Rickie Lee Jones Pirates MOFI SACD. Gave it a listen the other day and it is a good sounding SACD. But I just can't get into her singing as at times she sounds like a young girl singing.

I'm curious George, do you have the regular CD of Rumour and Sigh to compare the MFSL to? I was just listening to the Capitol disc and find it to sound pretty good so not sure if I will get the SACD.

I never had the original Rumor and Sigh CD, sorry. I understand it's not very Dynamic though. And the Mofi sounds amazing!

Chaps, just a quick confirmation please.

I just received Boomer's Story and Paradise and Lunch from Elusive Disc (great fast service, to Poland, by them, by the way).
Am I right in saying that the first comes with a booklet and the second doesn't ?

I'm also curious if Love's Forever Changes came with a booklet or not.

J.A.W. hello :) Ordered both together (60 dollars), and they arrived without duty payable. Maybe I was lucky, I dunno :)

I have read on the forum that a good place for buying MOFI in Europe (to avoid such nonsense ;)) is WOWHD.co.uk or WOWHD.com. But when I have checked, they didn't seem so competitive on price.

Elusive Disc took one week from ordering to arriving on my doorstep. Excellent.

  22. At this point someone needs to set up a website listing which MFSL releases come with a booklet or not.

I thought that was what the purpose of any Mofi thread on this website, along with "who mastered the ____ release?

Twisting By The Pool sounds like The Ramones to me.
