By making this a two song release, he's effectively eliminated any chance of a no. 1 hit as sales will be divided between the two songs.

Are you joking? Or being sarcastic? I can't tell anymore. Fyi, there is 0 chance of that happening. Why not just appreciate 2 new songs from a great artist?

 

I've been following this thread for far too long. Just wanted to pop in and say that I'm excited, more so for the pre-order of the album than for the singles. I've grown very tired of this "trickling out" of tracks for albums. I don't need to hear half of the album before its release date -- I need (and want) to hear the whole thing as a collection... and I hope that artists will continue to see the album as a whole piece of art, not a collection of "singles."

That said, I'll eat up anything McCartney puts out, and am very excited for whatever comes next.
