Shane, I'm curious as to why the new Gene Clark SACD (White Light) is priced higher than the Lost Studio Sessions SACD?
The White Light SACD is on Intervention, Lost sessions is on a different label not Intervention. Different labels have different pricing structures.
yes sorry my post was unclear, he said the lp will be later, I don't have an SACD player so i'll have to wait
12 dreams by spirit is an astonishing record. I don’t know of any decent reissue of this ever but perhaps there has been one that I an unaware of.
@IRShane Quincy Jone's 'The Dude' that was going to be put out by AF is no longer on Music Direct website, as apparently with AF going out of business, this title was not going to be a parting gift title for us. If I understand correctly, KG already did the Remastering on this SACD, so wonder if your IR Label might be able to work out an agreement to put this title out, since KG has done Mastering for some of your Releases(i.e. Joe Jackson Albums). No idea how license rights, fees etc works out in this unusual case of an SACD that has already had the Remaster done. There seemed to be a lot SHF Members interested in buying 'The Dude' based on having its own thread for a while and mentions from others on the recent AF Thread about that label going out of business with a message from their owner.
Quick note to everyone here: Matthew Sweet's 100% Fun is on-sale 6/22! RTI shipped EARLY so look for on-sale dates to move up a little.
Right, but hasn't that always meant that sellers can charge anything they want up to the suggested manufacturer list price? It's not a seller suggested list price.
I think that ImportCDs is just making up some list prices, so it looks like they are selling CDs at a bigger discount than they really are. They are doing the same thing with the new Supertramp MFSL SACD, saying the list is $39.98, when it is actually $30.
Not always. But if you plan to harass an insider about something maybe do a little bit of research first. And you guys wonder why they all leave here eventually.
Yes "suggested" is the key word. They can charge what they like. Having my own store and honest retailers who sell at SRP like Acoustic Sounds and Elusive Disc I don't see much monkeying around in the market.
