FYI: NC shipping practices are terrible. LOTS of seam splits etc. I am lucky enough to be local, so I wait for the album to be released and I head to a local NC to grab it. Saves me from the damages in shipping. Even though the albums are "Sold Out" online, they are still available in store. I've never missed any that I was looking for.
Even the "This is L.A.", I was able to grab the Red/White/Blue variant (/300) in store, and there were still 2 left on the shelf.

Then, after some sit there for so long without selling, NC actually raises the prices to match the current value on Discogs/eBay (yup). Then they sit there even longer.

Just complained on twitter - my Interpol came with a split seam, last order dinged every corner but outer box was fine. Their stuff is priced too high to have packaging issues.

I assume the Interpol split seam would be bad packaging right?

I've ordered numerous records from Newbury Comics and never had any issues.... they use decent record mailers so that the corners don't get crushed in transit....... must be your local sorting office or something.

The big package I ordered 8 lps. The outer box was fine. They did use bubble wrap but not snug, every single lp had a ding in same corner. Never have a issue with any other vinyl seller - daptone amazon merge bullmoose etc

Other complaints on Interpol split covers here too

They all leave the same warehouse in Brighton MA. Yours come from the same place. I didn't get corner dings. I got seam splits.

Erm, who said otherwise? Not I. I suggested it was your local sorting office or maybe the US postal service in general that doesn't look after them. How do I manage to get records from them all the time posted from the US all the way to England with no bends, seam splits or crushed corners ever if they're packaging isn't good?

Seam splits can happen before a record even reaches the retailers. If that was the case, they shouldn't be selling them, but it's nothing to do with their "shipping practices".

Agree to disagree apparently. But I am far from the only person to complain about their shipping, not even the only person to complain about on this page!

NC has in store sales. I picked up the ABB red vinyl for 20 bucks and the Paul Simon maroon vinyl for 15 bucks.

Yeah, sale time is when I normally shop the NC out in Norwood. However, I will never buy an album they they raise the price on to equal the market price. Sale or no sale, that's just ridiculous.

Ugh the buffalo Tom and nick cave recent announcements are both split color vinyl. I really hate the look of split colors, I was hoping the split color idea was going away

20% sale online again. Junebug is the discount code. Good June 6-8. Think I'll have to pick up a few things again.

Finally got around to listening to ABB Fillmore East on clear vinyl from Newbury last night. Very impressive. Used to have a pink Capricorn moons ago but that one's long gone but this definitely sounds better than the deluxe cd edition from early 2000's...

I just saw that OLTA is going to be released in August for the 10 year anniversary. Pre-orders for a few different sets were up at Amazon.

I used to have an original but sold it. I also like the record, too, which a lot of folks weren't too keen on. I like the space-y, airy tracks on it.

I wouldn't mind Antics getting a reissue. I really love 3 songs on OLTA but not enough to spring for a deluxe.
