Hi all Rumours circulating here in the UK is that Tom Hardy is been lined up as Daniel Craig’s successor to play Bond. Apparently auditioning took place in June. A yes from me, your thoughts?
A "Yes...but" for me.... I wouldn't be surprised if the whole Bond saga stops with the next movie. It's taken too long, the stakes are too high....and the Mission Impossible franchise has left the Bond series in its trails. The real star in the post-Casino Royale/Daniel Craig was Judi Dench as M. If they should choose to make the next Bond 'more of the same'; Tom Hardy's your man. If you want to make it a new experience take Tom Hiddleston, sign a contract with Guy Ritchie and make Bond a new experience.
I'm surprised they haven't developed other '00' agents or Felix Leiter and spun off movies without Bond
Tom Hardy is 43. Seems a bit late to cast him as Bond, especially with such long gaps between the movies these days.
I'm inclined to agree. But Roger Moore was 45 in Live and Let Die, and 58 when he announced his retirement in December 1985 after playing Bond for over 12 years.
Do we "need" any franchise? I love that multiple generations have put their stamp on the same character and format. It's cool.
Well I guess we'll never see season two of Taboo. Seriously, I think Tom Hardy would make a great James Bond, at least as good as Daniel Craig, but probably not better. Love the Bond movies, keep them coming.
I guess we all have our own opinions and favorites. Craig is my second favorite Bond, only behind Sean Connery. Casino Royale and Skyfall are my favorites, the other two are ok, I guess. I did like Spectre more the second time around. I mentioned the tv series Taboo with Tom Hardy, have you seen that?
I thought I heard that the next james bond would be a woman? I'm just not into that I want all make bonds and look forward to them making the change after years but I'm not into a woman taking the spot it will not be bond anymore...;IMO
You didn't know that secretly James Bond already was a woman? I guess that was not too clear in the films ha ha. This says "007 but not Bond" or maybe it will be Jamie Bond Lashana Lynch: 'A black Bond would be big for my community, but I need the world to not care about it' Says this was announced in June 2019-WHA?!?! I missed that one I guess. - Grace Jones will play the part of M (with a flashback scene where Caitlyn Jenner talks to Ralph Fiennes about how to find his inner woman). - In an attempt to juice up falling soundtrack sales, James Bond will be played by Ed Sheeran and Q will be played by Liam Gallagher since he is not too busy these days. Sheeran's Bond will start out quite unsuitable then get a makeover, to tie-in with a revival of Beauty and the Geek on TV "and all major streaming platforms." - There will also be a tie-in to a cooking show but details not yet revealed. - The big question is, who will the villain be?
Have you heard of this concept, it's called "money"? Here is the definitive reference The Money Team (P.S. At least per Wikipedia, Bond and Tom Cruise seem roughly equal. Even if not, the last 2 Bonds together grossed well over a BILLION dollars-nobody is killing that cash cow!)
They need a young actor around 30 years of age. I wouldn't mind if he was younger in his mid-twenties. Casting a new actor never improved the films in the past. The writing still stank and the directing was always off. Tom Hardy is not a bad choice, but he's too old (nevertheless he's probably got it). No matter who plays Bond the films are still burdened by the same producers who can't seem to help dragging down their own productions. They can't get out of their own way. The best thing that could happen to the franchise would be to get rid of Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. If Barbara & Michael cast a 45 year-old actor again it proves the producers need to retire. Merry Christmas, everybody.
i'd vote for casting a talented unknown in his late 20's, and do period films, following the chronology of the books, as faithful as possible to Fleming's novels.
Been watching Miss Scarlet and The Duke which co-stars Stuart Martin, and I got to say I think he would make a fine 007. He has pretty much what is needed in a Bond and he’s Scottish, so a nice nod to JB’s origins. Shave the beard and you’ve got James Bond, 007, license to kill.
