Great style, I hear a song with his piano, I usually can tell it's him, but never really kept track of what songs he's on. I know own he's on a few of who by number and also stones fool to cry, to name a couple, I know he's on there's much more but never made specific note of the songs. I have tin man was dreamer on lp but as much as I like the guy, solo is not his thing, his session stuff is what I like better. I, hoping this forumessage can provide me with list of songs that he plays on where his contribution to the song is obvious or give me a better appreciation of his impact on certa8n songs. There's just some things about his playing that I like but hard to explain. I mean, I always start off thinking, oh that's just some guy playing the piano part but as the song goes on I'm like, that piano is awesome and really makes the song. Does that make sense? Oh and please don't tell me it's all on Wikipedia, I came here first, will check know wiki now. Also, I don't know if this has been brought up before on the forum, but apologies in advance if so. Help me identify the songs that he plays on. For example, is he on the whole, how many friends do I really Got? How bout stones time wait for know one?

I believe he claimed that he deserved a lot of artistic credit for the Kinks' VGPS, especially after Ray started claiming he'd played most of the keyboards himself.

A lot of my favorite contributions of his come from albums like Volunteers by Jefferson Airplane and Exile On Main St. by The Rolling Stones. The only tracks that come to mind right now are Jefferson Airplane's "We Can Be Together" and The Rolling Stones' "Loving Cup." He plays pretty extensively on both of those albums, so they would both be worth doing further research on if you are trying to compile a complete list.

Look no further than the Stones' Exile On Main Street. "Loving Cup" is but one of his amazing contributions there. Plus, "Coming Down Again" on Goat's Head Soup.

"Getting In Tune" on Who's Next is yet another. Too many to chose from, really.

Wikipedia has a big listing, as does Discogs.

One of my favorites from the '60s. He had previously played piano on The Who's original recording of the same song, but on this cover version he really lets it all hang out:

Too many to mention, probably. IMO Nicky Hopkins had a gift that could turn a good or even average song into something special. It's no wonder everybody and their dog wanted him on their records.

Was about to post a picture of my TT playing Hunky Dory but apparently some guy named Wakeman was the piano player on that one.

"She's a Rainbow" and "Loving Cup" are hard to beat - he also plays on a burning Stones bootleg called "Happy Birthday Nicky" that was recorded at a Perth, Australia show on Nicky's birthday in 1973
