Olivia Newton-John. Yay or Nay?

On eBay, the cheapest Physical laserdisc is $8.99 plus shipping. It would've been a waste to buy the one at the flea market. It always pays to do a little research every now and then

 

Look for this instead. Better value and it won't get Laser Rot!

BTW, I think these discs were released separately in the States.

Probably poor coating and the metal underneath oxidises or something.

 

I think many Laser Discs got it eventually. Luckily DVDs came along!

No Blu ray. This is the UK version, but is OOP. You'd probably be able to get it cheap, though.

 

Brand new on EBay for about £9, - bargain. I think I will get this....

I think I paid more for it when it was just released! Make sure it's the 2 disc Vols 1 & 2 edition, though.

I really like her take on "If Not For You" but that's about it. She can certainly sing so I appreciate her talent, and she's a decent actress (I've seen Grease a few times because my wife will watch it every single time it's on television) but her musical style doesn't exactly line up with my tastes.

Yes, it's a great show. She's really on form. I had it on video back then. Have never seen this DVD, so can't speak for the quality of it..

 

Trust me, I've seen all her movies and Olivia is NOT a good actress.

 

The DVDs from Korea so it may be a 'transfer' but it's only like a fiver on EBay,

 

It's probably a bootleg. I don't recall this show ever being officially released on DVD...

 

I agree - a transfer being straight from tape or off a repeat on cable/sat - ive had some like these in the past and they are usually watchable but only just.

 

I'd get the Gold one though if it's only £9. That's decent value.

I bought this a few years ago -- it is a bootleg, but whoever did it did a VERY good job of it. It appears to have been made from the LaserDisc. Picture is quite good for a bootleg, and the audio is excellent -- in stereo.

 

Awesome stuff.

As for the antics of the musicians in the video....the dude at the keyboard's seems to be hopped up on the peruvian powder!
