I heard “It’s Only Make Believe” by Conway Twitty. Hadn’t heard it in along time. What a fantastic vocal (original late 50s version)! Starts with a low growl and soars into the chorus. You can just hear the ache and yearning in his voice. Absolutely wonderful. Really struck me and I had to post about it.

Lovin' Spoonful - You Didn't Have to Be So Nice

A true gem of a pop tune! Actually, The Lovin' Spoonful had a bunch of great pop tunes. So smooth, catchy, and gentle on the ears.
