That's awesome. So this trend really is battling the bootleggers who really should not be profiting off of other people's work. So it's good to see!

snooping around on peter's website, there is a "tour diary" and it mentions some of the tunes they've been rehearsing.....And Through The Wire, Lay Your Hands on Me, I Don't Remember, D.I.Y., Blood of Eden, Rhythm of the Heat, Waiting for the Big one, Washing of the Water, We Do What we're told.

Not sure what they will end up doing, but they are going throught most of my absolute faves in the rehearsals. Here's hoping for a US string of dates in the fall.

I will be getting a few of these live cds....sounds like he's rehearsing enough songs, so we'll need a bunch of these cds to get all the songs performed...he's a clever fellow that PG.

Any European forum members hitting any of these shows?

    Yeah great setlist!
I was just in London and got bummed every time I saw posters for his gig @ Hyde Park on the 23rd! Too bad I did not go in time to hit that show!
Ah well, hopefully he will grace the US with some shows this fall.
PG is one of the best stage performers I have ever seen.

I wonder if he falls back into the audience for Lay Your Hands on Me like he did in the 80s?

When the Who first starting doing this, I emailed the web site and told that very thing. I encouraged them to continue it and pass on the information so they could beat bootleggers at their game and do a better job of it while profiting.

Shortly after that I got an email from a "Rolling Stone" writer for further comments and answered several questions that were included in the article. But, I knew they had hit the nail on the head with the Encore Series and am glad they're still doing it (recording and selling the shows).

    to them!

EDIT: I'll be buying this whole series.

I don't think the trend will ever kill the booters, but it will at least give the artist a fairer share of the pie.

Of course, the booters could always transform themselves into pirates...

    Excellent!
Was not even aware he had any tour plans. Great set list & here hoping we get some US dates at some point.
Guess there WAS a reason why he chose not to join the rest of Genesis for their tour.:p

A large majority of the "bootleggers" are in fact traders only, for no profit.
Perhaps places like EBay should do a little closer scrutiny of some of the music offering being listed on their site, however...:shake:

I saw him yesterday in Mainz, Germany. Great concert, fantastic setlist - I hope he keeps some of these old songs in his set, when he is finally touring with a new album in the future.
Here is what was played in Mainz:

    The Rhythm Of The Heat
    On The Air
    Intruder
    D.I.Y.
    Blood Of Eden
    I Don’t Remember
    No Self Control
    Lovetown
    Schnappschuss (Family Snapshot)
    Steam
    Mother Of Violence (Vocals Melanie)
    Humdrum
    Big Time
Not One Of Us (chorus in german)
    Lay Your Hands On Me
    ---
    Digging In The Dirt
    Solsbury Hill
    ---
    Sledgehammer
    ---
    In Your Eyes

My only small complaint is that such a set should rather be performed in darkness, but since it was an outdoor event and started quite early, daylight was still there when it was over...

wow, another great set list. this man is no dummy, he knows his completist fans will want to buy every show with such varying set lists....i've seen 2 set lists and kinda want to order 2 sets already....:agree:

I'm gonna have to stop visiting my own thread soon...

Its been posted that he is intentionally trying to mix it up to keep the Encore CDs interesting enough so that people will want all the different shows... smart man! He'll break me, but he's a smart man! LOL! :)

One funny moment during yesterdays show was when he explained that the set consists of many songs which weren't played for a long time and were chosen by the fans through his website (he did nearly all announcements in german!). Someone shouted quite loudly "Supper's Ready!" - Gabriel just smiled and said something like "No, not that one...".

Yeah - looks like I have to buy at least one more Encore-CD (besides Mainz), but I'm going to wait until the tour is over to pick the most different/interesting one...

I think I'll wait out the tour for the next DVD! Seemed like overkill with "Still Growing Up," but it wouldn't be this time around.

A set list like this makes the current Genesis "reunion" so insignificant...

ha. i dont know if i'd say "insignificant". kinda "diminishes" it for me a tad. I bought Genesis tix, am looking forward to it. would trade my seats to see peter do this set list thats for sure!
