I remember "Security" being the first CD I bought.
At the time trumpeted as an "all digital" recording ... kind of ironic.

Interesting. Could mean 45rpm. Or hopefully some alternate song versions and extended mixes. Peter is notorious for tinkering with his stuff.

I was going to pre order but you have to pay in full in advance. Not really into paying for something 3 months in advance. Assuming they get released on time. They are limited editions of 10,000 so....I'm going to wait. These are not going to sell out anytime soon.

Actually, by UK new vinyl standards. not a bad price (70 for 1-4 bundled).

However, good as they may be, getting up every 10 minutes to flip sides...hmmm...not sure about that.

  11. And right when you get excited from the wonderful drum sound and get your groove going..... You have to get up after 8 minutes or so and flip the record. :tiphat:

  12. I certainly agree with you there. I get the 45 craze but it's not for me.

If you're ordering from the US, there's no VAT so it comes out to $35 free shipping per album.

That 10 foot walk is overwhelming.

It's also worth noting that while the English versions are all limited to 10,000, the German ones are limited to just 3,000. Still probably won't sell out anytime soon though.

I have all four of the original pressings, but they're not in the best shape. Judging by the overwhelmingly positive responses to the Classic Records versions, I think that I'm going to have to get these.

I really hope that this leads to further vinyl reissues. I'd love So, US, Passion, Secret World Live, OVO, and Up to get the same treatment.

  16. Its not the walk for me at all. it's the loss of momentum of the music. But I get others feeling differently

I ask this as someone who does not know much about mastering: Does half-speed mastered mean that this is an all analog release? They say it was cut to lacquers at half speed at 45 rpm but does that necessarily mean it's AAA?

And bonus you have a download card with a choice of digital download (Hi-Res 24/96k or 16/44.1k)

Nice to see the price isn't out to scalp us, when you hear 45rpm and half speed master usually mean hang onto your wallets.

Definitely intrigued by this and that bundle is good value for money, was only listening to my rather crackly copy of Shaking The Tree this weekend and thinking I do with more PG, I've got 3 and So on original pressings.

According to remastering engineer Matt Colton, the half-speed mastered 45 rpm cuts are at least this much better <raises hands while gesturing> than any previous release.

    I'm convinced!

No. half speed mastered and all analog are mutually independent.

P.S. Gabriel III and IV are all digital recordings. Not sure about the first two

For those in the US... if you choose to pay in pounds or Euro's... it will be cheaper than the US price.
